Faculty of Economic Sciences is a member of the net of European leading universities of life sciences, Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS). This summer, 6-12.07.2014 students and staff members of the Faculty participated in the summer school in Klatovy, Czech Republic. Summer School Economics, Management and Social Sciences: Their Application in Rural Development was organised by faculties and departments that focus on economics, management and social sciences. The schedule included presentations of students’ research problems. There were also lectures on rural areas development. A case study on the Local Action Group and its operation in the region of Klatovy was an important element. It was a students’ task to propose some alternative development options for this area. Students’ ideas found interest of representatives of local self-governments.
