Our students in 2014 ENACTUS finals

On June 2 the stages of Warsaw Kamienica Theatre held 2014 ENACTUS finals. The event was attended by over 250 students and 80 judges – presidents and directors – experienced managers ready to hear about students? achievements, share their knowledge and evaluate students? work. Nine teams of students from Warsaw, Gdansk , Poznan, Wroclaw, Lodz and Kielce presented their project.

Warsaw University of Life Sciences was proudly represented by Interfaculty Academic Association of Responsible Business ENACTUS and its coordinator dr Joanna  Chudzian. Apart from the team of 6 representatives (Aleksandra Matysiak, Joanna Bielecka, Ewelina Godos –  3rd year students, Jakub Okulski, Bartłomiej Malinowski, Weronika Kitka – 1st year students ) the whole team of 51 students and their guests took part in that event. The WULS team presented three projects it worked hard on for the whole year:

1) LAX TO IT – the goal of this initiative is to promote Lacrosse sport in Poland through CSR activities. The effect of the project was a newly created job, 25k PLN profit generated. Thanks to LAX DO IT initiative 585 children regularly trains Lacrosse sport, which becomse more and more popular in Poland.
2) RESPONSIBLE CAMPUS – the aim of the project that involved 4,000 students of WULS is to teach young people about healthy lifestyle and life in a cost-effective and responsible manner. The outcome of the project was: 5 tonnes of e-waste collected, 300 objects got ?a second life?, 4800kWh (which amounts to around 3000 PLN) of energy was saved.
3) BE PLAYABLE – this initiative aimed at stimulating people’s desire to play sports. During the project two major sports events were organized (open pratice  ith Ewa Pajor – U-17 Europe Championship winner ? and the tournament against the homophobia), 3000 children took part in shows of Lacrosse and Flag Football. Another achievement under this project is a group of 120 women who are able to play soccer for free.

During the Enactus finals the WULS team was awarded with “the most improved team” title. The projects were also presented on June 4 during the meeting of the Department of European Policy, Public Finance and Marketing.
